About the material satin
Satin fabric has a glossy surface and a dull back. Forming a minimum number of interlacings in a fabric, which is a warp-dominated weaving technique, a satin-woven fabric tends to have a high luster. This is because of the high number of "floats" on the fabric, which make the fabric look glossier as well as give it a smoother "hand" in most cases. Satin is used to make apparels, scarves, lingerie, nightgowns, and evening gowns, shirts, ties, upholstery, interior furnishing fabrics, bed sheets etc.
